Zaya is a 24 year old woman from the southern Azim Steppe. Zaya's mother was originally of the Bayaqud before meeting her Qalli husband and settling into his tribe. Zaya fully embraces her culture and the cultures of other Xaela due to her mixed heritage. Name: Zaya Dotharl
Nickname: Butcher, hag, vulture, Little bird (no longer in use), Songbird (no longer in use)
Roaming places: Eorzean citystates, Azim Steppe
Relationship status: Presumed widowed.
Notable appearance differences: Zaya has a prominent scar across the side of her neck underneath her jaw. She also bears a very distinct scar on her torso that is usually hidden. She's gained three more sets of scars across the back of her lower left leg.
Strengths:Zaya is very emotionally perceptive due to being a Qalli. She takes notice of people's tone of voice to infer their feelings. She is trained with a bow in hunting and has used the bow since she was five. She has excellent stamina and has strength enough to use a bow effectively. She's been trained in the past few years in Dotharli war tactics, and has started to dabble in Steppe conjury.
Weaknesses: Zaya is not gifted at controlling her aether and is not able to cast or defend against spells easily. She is not able to fight in hand-to-hand combat as she is untrained. Zaya experiences panic attacks under certain circumstances.
Main job: Songstress/Archer
Backstory: Originally from the Steppe, Zaya went to Eorzea to experience what songs could be learned among the people. She had experienced love and loss in equal measure time and time again. As of late, there is little lilt in her voice, and her hands often idly grasp for something that isn't there. She refuses to remove a red, tattered ribbon that she once used to adorn her head. Instead she had tied the scrap around one of her horns.
Additional information: She is ambidextrous. She is afraid of male Hyurs. She is a pacifist with very few exceptions. She is very friendly with fellow Xaela of all tribes. She sings every vocal reply she makes unless it is stated otherwise.
